Eighth Grade Field Trip to Taller Puertorriqueño

Eighth grade students enjoyed a visit to Taller Puertorriqueño in Philadelphia on Wednesday, May 1. The cultural organization, also known as El Corazón Cultural del Barrio (cultural heart of the neighborhood), uses art to promote development with the Latinx community and build bridges to the greater Philadelphia region. 

Students had the opportunity to tour the galleries and participate in cultural workshops, including a featured art exhibit. They even got a chance to salsa dance! 

The field trip has classroom connections as students are currently learning how to get to know and help their communities.
