Students, Faculty, and Staff Embrace Creativity Through Virtual Book Festival

For this year’s Virtual Book Festival, students in the Lower and Middle School recreated characters and scenes from their favorite books at home and submitted their entries digitally. There were two main categories: Edible (made from food) or Recyclable (made from reused materials). 

The winners included:

Best in Show Edible: “Chasing Rainbows” by Dr. Seuss, Chloe B. (7th Grade)

Best in Show Recyclables: “The Rainbow Fish” by Marcus Pfister, Sarah H. (7th Grade) and Emmie H. (5th Grade)

People’s Choice Edible: “The Rainbow Fish” by Marcus Pfister, Bryn F. (2nd Grade) and Elle F. (Kindergarten)

People’s Choice Recyclable: “Zoey and Sassafras: The Pod and The Bog” by Asia Citro, Inaya C. (2nd Grade)

Best Literary Work, Lower School: “The Pigeon Needs a Bath!” by Mo Willems, Nora S. (Kindergarten)

Best Literary Work, Middle School: “Little Miss Sunshine and Mr. Bump” by Roger Hargreaves, Katie K. (8th Grade), Molly K. (6th Grade) and Joey K. (4th Grade)

Best Literary Work, Faculty/Staff: “The Paper Bag Princess” by Robert Munsch, Mrs. Gregory (Library)

Funniest & Punniest: “The Day the Crayons Quarantined” based on “The Day the Crayons Quit” by Drew Daywalt, illustrated by Oliver Jeffers, Mrs. Malwitz (Library)
