On Saturday, January 18, a varsity team of Moorestown Friends School students qualified for the National History Bowlbased on a strong performance at the 2014 New Jersey State Championships. The following students will compete as a team in Washington, D.C. the weekend of April 25: senior Kirsten Mullen, junior Brett Barbin, sophomore Josh Murdy, and freshman John Barton. Also competing were senior Eric Barash, junior Emily Tatum, and freshmen Alex Horn and Charles Kropiewnicki.
Brett Barbin also qualified for the U.S. Geography Olympiad.
Three students qualified for Nationals in History Bee on the junior varsity level: Josh Murdy, John Barton, and Alex Horn.
The competition was held at Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. They were accompanied by faculty advisor and Upper School History Teacher Judy van Tijn.
