Student Journalists Garner 19 Garden State Scholastic Press Association Awards
The Upper School student newspaper WordsWorth received 19 awards in the 2023-24 Garden State Scholastic Press Association Contest, which were announced at the Garden State Scholastic Press Association (GSSPA) Conference recently held at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. This year’s event celebrated the GSSPA’s 45th anniversary and its ongoing mission to defend the 45 words of the First Amendment. The event welcomed 624 students and 70 advisers from 44 schools and 33 educational sessions were offered by 36 speakers from academic and professional backgrounds.
Livia Kam ’26, WordsWorth Associate Editor of Blog and member of the GSSPA student board, represented MFS student publications at the conference and also led a student roundtable discussion.
