Two MFS siblings enjoyed success on the Philadelphia-area Maccabi basketball teams. Jack Stern ’19 was a member of the Philadelphia U-16 Boys Basketball Maccabi Team which recentlywon gold medals last week in the Maccabi Games held in St. Louis, while his sister Charlotte Stern ’18 was a member of the U-16 Philadelphia Basketball team which won goal medals in the Maccabi Games held last week in Stamford, CT. Jack helped lead his team to a 58-50 victory in the gold medal game with 14 points and 12 rebounds against the host team from St. Louis. Similarly, Charlotte led her team in the gold medal game with 26 points, 14 rebounds and 6 blocks in a 47-37 win over a team from North Miami Beach. Both, Charlotte and Jack have been invited to try out for the Team USA teams (U-18 for Junior Ladies Division and U-16 for Youth Men Division) that will represent the U.S. In Israel in the Summer 2017 Maccabiah Games.
