Scholar-Athletes Participate in BCSL Sportsmanship Summits
Four scholar-athletes have participated in two Burlington County Scholastic League Sportsmanship Summits at Top Golf in Mount Laurel. The events provide a fun, but educational environment where athletes and coaches throughout the conference can hear from a League official/assignor about the importance of positive sportsmanship and discuss the many facets of being a good sport and what that looks like through thought provoking discussions. They then get to have fun at Top Golf and make connections and network with scholar-athletes from other conference schools. Scholar-athletes are the bridge between parents/guardians and officials. If scholar-athletes know and understand conference sportsmanship expectations, they can lead by example.
Participating in the Fall Sportsmanship Summit were Anna Thompson ’25 (Girls’ Tennis) and Matt Schlotterbeck ’25 (Boys’ Soccer) and recently participating in the Winter Summit were Mikelle Smith ’25 (Girls’ Basketball) and Zak Bah ’25 (Boys’ Basketball).
