The MFS Playscape is Open!
Lower School students, fifth graders, faculty, and staff gathered outside on Tuesday, November 2 to celebrate the official opening of the new Moorestown Friends School Playscape. Head of School Julia de la Torre and Lower School Director Jenel Giles led the program. “Lower School students – many of you provided the creative spark for the Playscape when, in the fall of 2019, you had the chance to create your own model of what you wanted to see on the playground,” said Ms. de la Torre. “YOU were the original inspiration for the Playscape, and I’d love to take a moment to celebrate you.” Ms. Giles and members of the Playscape Design Committee, assisted by fourth graders placed all around the Playscape, then provided an introduction to the various play areas and elements.
A special ribbon-cutting to officially open the Playscape followed, which included the MFS Fox! Soon after, students scampered onto the Playscape to explore their new outdoor home. Click here to enjoy this growing gallery of photos from the first week on the Playscape.
