Caitlin Sweeney joins the Lower School faculty as a Second Grade Teacher, alongside Amanda Rivenburgh.
As a student, Caitlin experienced independent education, graduating from The Agnes Irwin School in Philadelphia. She then went on to earn a B.A. in sociology from Hamilton College and a M.S. in education from Bank Street College of Education. After a few brief posts as an assistant teacher, Caitlin worked at Browne Academy in Alexandria, VA as a kindergarten teacher for a couple years. Her most recent experience has been at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy in Philadelphia, where she taught the three youngest grades of prekindergarten, kindergarten, and first grade. At Springside Chestnut Hill, Caitlin was involved with the Center for Entrepreneurial Learning and she was a member of the school’s diversity committee.
Thus far at MFS, Caitlin has enjoyed her first few weeks teaching in a Quaker school and has especially appreciated Meeting for Worship.
In her personal time, Caitlin works in her garden, rides her bike, and plays tennis.
