Students Hone Skills at Upper School Music Retreat
Upper School students had the opportunity to meet with and attend sessions with professional musicians and clinicians during an all-day, on-campus retreat on Friday, March 1. Clinicians included Elaine Petrosino, John Lindner, Kaj Hansen, Jaress Loo, and Becky Siler.
Throughout the day, students engaged in a series of sessions and workshops facilitated by these professionals. These sessions were designed to delve into various aspects of music performance and theory, allowing students to refine their techniques and deepen their understanding of fundamental musical concepts.
One particular aspect of the retreat was the opportunity for students to witness first-hand the talents of the clinicians. In the Auditorium, alongside Middle/Upper School Choral Director Steve Weber, students were treated to performances showcasing the mastery and artistry of these clinicians. This allowed students to observe the application of the techniques and concepts they had been refining throughout the day in a real-world performance setting.
