Students Travel Across Town for MooMUN at Moorestown High
A summary from Upper School History Teacher and Model UN Advisor Clark Thomson:
A small delegation of ten Moorestown Friends’ Model United Nations delegates traveled to Moorestown High School on Saturday, February 4, for the 20th MooMUN Conference to work in seven committees with over 250 other students from ten area schools. A great surprise during the opening ceremonies was an appearance by John Oliver on Zoom to answer questions for a half hour. The committees were diverse and filled with crises. In fact, there was an assassination attempt on Maya DeAndrea (as Donald J. Trump). Our delegation was made up primarily of 9th and 10th grade students, and they excelled, earning three Best Delegate awards. Seniors Andrew Mercantini, Vanya Weinstock, and Heera Dalal joined as support for our delegation, which kept them from participating in committees. I am always awestruck by the commitment of our leadership. Another great day for Moorestown Friends School.
