Students Receive Six Awards at Rutgers University Model UN Conference
Upper School Model United Nations students traveled to Rutgers University in New Brunswick for a four-day Model UN Conference from November 16-19.
“Our delegation was well-represented at the Awards Ceremony that closes the conference on Sunday. Four novice delegates earning awards is a testament to their hard work and to their partners who helped them with their confidence and understanding of the nuance of a large conference of approximately 1,500 delegates,” said History Department Chair and Model UN advisor Clark Thomson.
Moorestown Friends School students received six awards at the conference:
- Most Improved Delegation: Samantha Lee ’24 and Berra Deryal ’26 in Special Political and Decolonization Committee
- Outstanding Delegation: Charlotte Nesevich ’25 and Justin Lewis ’26* in United Nations Development Programme
- Most Improved Delegation: Maya DeAndrea ’25 and Jaya Lawrence-Gupta ’26* in United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization
