The Moorestown Friends School Consumer Bowl team took top prize in the state Attorney General’s Office Division of Consumer Affairs’ Consumer Bowl on Friday. The MFS team, which consisted of Joshua Murdy, Alex Barrett, John Barton and Alex Horn, defeated teams from Voorhees High School in Hunterdon County and Randolph High School in Morris County. They previously had advanced through county and regional competition to qualify for the state championship.
The competition, in its 20th year, is a quiz-style contest that encourages students to be savvy consumers. The four-month competition hosts 80 schools from 18 counties across the state, testing students on financial fraud, charitable giving, home improvement regulations, store pricing and refund laws.
