Lower School students at special MLK Meeting for Worship

Throughout the month of January, Lower School students participated in a study of Loving Engagement, in preparation for a special Martin Luther King, Jr. program and Meeting for Worship on January 28. Lessons included studying social justice movements including the Civil Rights Movement, and reflecting on what it means to practice justice, liberation, and peace by seeking understanding and connection with those around us.

To prepare for the January 28 program, students imagined what an ideal community looks like to them, and worked together to create original posters, poems, and performances about their ideal community during this special Meeting for Worship. Presentation themes ranged from promoting peace and caring for each other, to taking care of the environment around us and making sure everyone feels included and involved.
