On March 4, three MFS Upper School students won prizes at the University of the Sciences 7th Annual Healthy Lifestyles Social Media Competition, sponsored by the Mayes College of Healthcare Business and Policy. Sam Ghazal ’18 took second place and was the recipient of a $1000 prize. Partners Amanda Kezbari ’17 and Tori Edelstein ’17 won third place and were the recipients of a $500 prize.
The students were required to develop a campaign that persuades others to live a healthy lifestyle, using the social media platforms of YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and more. The entries were judged on creativity/originality, understanding of the target audience, social media strategy, presentation skills, and social media campaign materials including relevance/applicability, artistic merit, mastery of the media, and production skills.
