Girls’ Basketball Advances to FSL Championship

A balanced scoring attack, stifling defense, and great first-half shooting helped the MFS Girls’ Basketball team to a 61-30 Friends Schools League (FSL) semifinal victory over Shipley yesterday in the Baiada Field House.

The Foxes face Westtown on Friday night in the FSL championship game at 6:30 p.m. at LaSalle University’s Gola Arena. Tickets ($5/adults, $3/students) may be purchased in advance at the MFS Athletics Office, located just outside the Baiada Field House Gym, beginning tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. through 1:30 p.m. on Friday. After that, tickets must be purchased at the door at Gola Arena.

On Sunday, the team will travel to Eastern High School for the quarterfinals of the prestigious South Jersey Invitational Basketball Tournament. The Foxes take on Olympic Conference power Shawnee at 5:15 p.m. An admission fee will be required at the entrance to SJIBT games and tickets can only be purchased at the door.
