Foxes Embark on FSL Playoff Journeys
Playoff season for Upper School varsity sports has arrived! On Tuesday, Boys’ Cross Country competed in the Friends Schools League championships at George School, finishing in seventh place. Isaac Linden ’25 was the Foxes top finisher in fifth place with a time of 17:08 on the 5K course.
Three Foxes teams have qualified for the Friends Schools League playoffs in the school’s final sports season in the league (MFS will enter the Burlington County Scholastic League beginning in the Winter season).
Tomorrow, two matches will take place:
Boys’ Soccer (11-4-1 overall / 6-3 FSL) hosts Friends’ Central in a first round FSL match at 3 p.m. The winner will travel to top-seeded Westtown for a semifinal on Wednesday.
Girls’ Tennis (10-8 overall / 5-4 FSL) will travel to Friends’ Central tomorrow for a 3 p.m. first-round match. The winner will travel to top-seeded Germantown Friends for a semifinal match on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Girls’ Soccer (9-6 overall / 5-2 FSL) will host Germantown Friends in an FSL semifinal match at 3 p.m. The semifinal winners will face off next Saturday for the league championship.
Field Hockey (5-10 overall / 3-4 FSL) finished fifth in the regular season standings and will compete in the FSL Quaker Cup. They will host Friends Select in a Quaker Cup semifinal match on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. If the Foxes win Tuesday, they would host the Quaker Cup final on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
NJSIAA state playoff brackets for field hockey and soccer teams will be released early next week with both soccer teams expected to host at least one match.
