First Graders Learn About Phases of the Moon and Create Lunar Phenology Wheel

First graders in Caitlin Long’s class completed a lunar phenology wheel during the month of February – one full lunar cycle in 28 days. The class prepared for the project by learning about the phases of the moon and discussing holidays related to the moon such as Chinese Lunar New Year. Students chose to draw things such as their daily life events, the weather, and their mood.
