Two Students Win Awards at Delaware Valley Science Fairs

Apr 17, 2024

Two students (and siblings), Jason ’26 and Nolan Youssef ’28, captured awards at the 76th Delaware Valley Science Fairs, which took place from April 2 – 4 in Oaks, PA. The purpose of the fair is to connect students to professionals in their fields with the goal that students will gain some insight into new directions for their research and new ways of thinking.

Jason won First Place (out of 18 participating projects from 13 different regional competitions) in the 10th Grade Medicine & Health category.

Nolan won Honorable Mention in the 6th-8th Grade Engineering category for the project (out of 19 participating regional fair-winning projects). In addition, he also won a First Place achievement award from the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers and an engineering award from West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc.

This fair follows presentations given by Jason and Nolan last month at the Coriell Science Fair where they both walked away with awards for their projects, earning qualification for the Delaware Valley Science Fairs.

Middle School Science Teacher Deb Bruvik (Nolan) and Upper School Science Teacher Trish Tate (Jason) served as faculty advisors/sponsors for the projects.
