Fifth Grade and Kindergarten Working Together at the Community Garden
Kindergarten students in Kenya Barber’s class have been reading a book called Growing Vegetable Soup and are learning about the science behind growing vegetables in a garden. Middle/Upper School Science Teacher Andrea Robinson oversees the Moorestown Friends Community Garden and suggested the kindergarteners could befriend and partner with Lyle Goldberg’s fifth grade students to plant their own kale plants for a “winter garden.” Together, the students turned over the soil in the beds before carefully planting their kale.
