Innovative Fifth Graders Host Cardboard Arcade

Fifth grade students continue to develop their critical thinking and design skills as part of their Genius Hour class. Today during the Middle School lunch hour they hosted a Cardboard Arcade featuring all types of fun carnival-type games for students, faculty, and staff who could earn tickets for some special treats. The only guiding parameter for students was that they could use a maximum of three cardboard boxes. They were then free to use any supplies to build their interactive creations. The result was a gym full of creative and fun activities.

This was a progression of their Genius Hour work which started with challenges that included magnet design and an equipment-free recess game.
