Clubs
Clubs and activities are an integral part of the Moorestown Friends School experience and take different forms in each division. At Moorestown Friends, students directly influence the idea of what an extracurricular is – or can be. Each division approaches the idea in a unique way, always placing an emphasis on choice and exploration. Regardless of the division, clubs and activities are another way for students to pursue passions and explore interests relating to academic and non-academic areas with guidance provided by club and activity advisers who are MFS faculty and staff.
See below for much more information about Lower School After-School Clubs, Middle School Activity Period, and Upper School Clubs, which typically meet at lunchtime.

Middle School Activity Period
Students in Grades 6-8 choose semester-spanning Activity Periods, built into their course schedules on Wednesdays and Fridays. They select their top choices from a list of offerings and receive activity placements based on grade level and class size. All activities are ungraded, further encouraging students to explore and customize their schedules to their liking. These Middle School offerings help students to identify and explore passions; they are also an exciting stepping stone to the greater independence and choice of Upper School learning.
During each week, students participate in two Activity Period offerings. These offerings allow students to engage in clubs and hobbies with other Middle Schoolers, across grade levels, who share common interests. Sixth graders fulfill their performing arts requirement during their Activity Periods, choosing either Choir, Ensemble, String Ensemble, Tech Crew, or Middle School Musical. Seventh and eighth graders are free to choose from a variety of offerings, which may include Student Government, Service Leadership, Performing Arts, Peer Tutoring, Lower School Buddy Program, First LEGO League Robotics, MATHCOUNTS, Science Olympiad, Active Sports and Games, as well as other options which vary from year to year. Students also have the option to select a quiet study hall for one or more of their Activity Periods.
In addition, there are some clubs that fall outside the activity umbrella and meet during lunch, including the Diversity and Environmental Stewardship Clubs.

Upper School Clubs
There are over 30 clubs in the Upper School and students can propose new ones by presenting them at Agenda Committee and Upper School Meeting for Worship for Business (student government). Clubs meet during lunch and are distinct from, but in some ways similar to, minor courses, which allow students to explore specialized subjects several times a week during a semester or full year. Above all, these unique methods of offering programs allow students to experience a range of educational, social, and personal benefits.
